I work very closely with Temple Hayes, Senior Minister of First Unity of St. Petersburg, Florida and founder of Life Rights. Every service includes this ” Peace Begins Right Here, Right Now” That is absolutely true and Peace Begins Right Here Right Now With Me!

It is our individual responsibility for manifesting peace in the world. We do that by being that peace which we desire to manifest. A wonderful spiritual being and lovely person reminded me just today of how important it is for our individual self to be at peace so we can be on purpose and bring happiness and peace to those we touch.

So how do we consistently allow the peace of God that is already within us to manifest? Before I explain what works for me, it is helpful  to remember there are significant differences around the world in how we see things and even with how we define peace. For example: there are people in the world who celebrate when a car bomb explodes in a crowded street bringing death and destruction. Their filtering system is different from mine. When I learn of a destructive event, I feel bad. I focus on connecting the Divine Energy of Peace that is part of me and part of all with that situation. Let’s go deeper.

All of us develop life filters from religion, politics, authors, the media and all that we come in contact with. If you are a devote Catholic, you have a Catholic filtering system. If you are a staunch Democrat you have a Democratic party filtering system. This article is not about to suggest there is anything wrong with any of your filtering systems. My purpose is to remind myself and share with you the knowing that every time we are influenced by a filtering system of ours, we can arrive at a judgment which can have a negative impact on us.  Every time we arrive at a judgment that results in negative emotion we are blocking the Divine Essence of God with us. When we block the Divine Essence of God within us we are blocking our ability to have peace within and we are blocking our ability to influence peace in the world. Peace Starts With Me!!  It is so important to really get that. 
When I was young and I was lovingly introduced to the Catholic faith by my mother (You are going to church if you expect to live in this house young man!! :) ) One of the lesson I learned was  that if you are not Catholic you would not get into heaven. There was something about that statement that was inconsistent with my  image and awareness  of God.

Today I know God is within and in all. However, in the interim, I went through many years of pain thinking I would be condemned for certain behavior including actions that are actually  a very natural part of being human. That is one personal example of a filtering system blocking the Divine Essence of God within me. I was not allowing myself to be the God intended state of peace and joy.

Oneness is the truth. Judgment is the block. The definition of Life Rights is “the right of all life to live their intention in freedom and peace.” Any way you look at this definition and think deeply about this definition results in arriving at the same conclusion: when our collective human consciousness becomes that definition, we no longer have war, crime and disease.

If that statement, doesn’t currently fit for you, set it aside or dismiss it for now.  Personally I am well served by remembering when feel troubled, stressed, worried, f earful, angry….to ask:  Steve what are you doing to block the Divine Energy of God from flowing? And if you say nothing, consider that our human form includes what we experience consciously, what we absorb subconsciously, which is said to be 20 million times greater than what we absorb consciously. If that isn’t enough, we have within our DNA what the human race experienced preceding us.  If you believe in the right of all life to live their intentions in freedom and peace like I do, then it is important to examine what blocks human life from allowing that freedom and peace to be as intended by God.

With the influence of our conscious memory, what is absorbed by our subconscious self and what we bring into our world in our DNA from the history of our ancestors , it becomes easier to understand how we manifest less than positive events. It can be very difficult to accept we are totally responsible for things that happen that we don’t like, don’t feel good about or are even painful. Once we accept that, then we can begin to address the source of those life situations and thoughts we would rather not have. Remember, God is perfect and eternal. All the crap that happens is sourced in separateness thinking which results in blocking Divine Love and Divine Wisdom. The state of Divine Love manifests true peace as defined by God and not peace defined by us through filters.
How can we consistently be the Divine God with us? For me it has become very clear to be aware of judgment that results in a negative emotion and stop fueling that thinking as soon as I become aware of it. A related focus of my attention comes from what I began to understand in the fall of 2007. This is the cleaning process known as ho’oponopono. While the details are beyond the scope of this article, the following is the speed course on the essence of ho’oponopono which is one tool for the cleaning or removing the blocks to Divine Energy within us:

I Am Sorry — for whatever conscious or otherwise energy throughout the course of time that has caused this (event, thought, negative feeling) to manifest.

Please Forgive Me —-God does not judge us. We judge, so we are asking that we are helped to forgive ourselves for whatever energy that has caused this situation (including a negative thought) to manifest.

Thank You — thanking God within and in the collective universe for helping us recognize that we don’t always know the reasons for the events, thoughts and experiences we don’t prefer and for allowing us to forgive and move on.

I Love You — reaffirming our Unconditional Love for the essence of God in each one of our cells and in all that is manifest in the Universe.

I assure you, once I was guided to begin using ho’oponopono in the instant I became aware of a negative thought in addition to already using it in advance of meeting someone, arriving at an intended destination, being in a particular place including my home,  even in advance of traveling on our roads and highways, I felt a very positive change in my level of peace and joy. I also have received renewed clarity on certain parts of my life where I have been seeking direction. This is working for me and I feel it will work for you as well.
